    Pound for Pound
    1 …

    Pound for Pound
    1. Fedor Emelianenko
    2. Georges St Pierre
    3. Anderson Silva
    4. Miguel Angel Torres
    5. Urijah Faber
    6. Lyoto Machida
    7. Bj Penn
    8. Mike Brown
    9 Shinya Aoki
    10. Yushin Okami

    Dude you’re just …
Dude you’re just naming names of a bunch of nobodies basically. I’ve watched these fights and they’re no more impressive than a bunch of low level IFC fights. His opponents aren’t impressive, he’s not impressive, that’s what i’m talking about. You can’t compare Torres’ skills to that of GSP, BJ Penn, Fedor, Machida, etc. Torres is simply far inferior and is basically an amateur against these guys.

  3. metaldudebuff92 Says:

    and what do you …
and what do you mean his opponents aren’t impressive? he’s faught Yoshiro Maeda who was a great fighter and put up a very good fight against the champ. Takeya Mizugaki was also a good fighter, who pushed Torres through 5 rounds and brought out the best in the champ.
His next fight against Brian Bowles is another great fighters. Bowles isn’t a pushover hes got some serious skills and will be Torre’s toughest test to date.

opponents aren’t impressive…wtf you talking about!?!?!?

  4. metaldudebuff92 Says:

    What do you mean …
What do you mean his fighting isn’t impressive? He did some crazy against Tapia, or how about his fight with Yoshiro Maeda? He completley shut Maeda’s right eye causing the doctors to stop the fight. His striking is great, his submissions are very smooth, his cardio is off the charts, and hes got that mindset you need to be a champ and one of the best.

  5. rtc7788 Says:

    I’m not talking …
I’m not talking about realistically dropping that much weight because it’s impossible. I’m talking about if Brock kept his skill, but his size was reduced to BJ’s size, he would get beat badly. Because pound for pound, Brock is inferior to BJ.

  6. rtc7788 Says:

    Yes i have seen …
Yes i have seen Torres fight, hence why I said he looks amateur’ish. There are no impressive 135 lb’ers. BJ Penn did very well against Lyoto Machida compared to Lyoto’s other opponents that he’s beat.

Even if BJ Penn loses some cardio, Torres still isn’t making it passed the first round against BJ. Seriously Torres only looks good because of his record. His fighting isn’t impressive, his opponents aren’t impressive.

  7. metaldudebuff92 Says:

    See you know what …
See you know what your talking about, people are dissing Torres cause of his weight class.

Pound for pound has nothing to do with size. Its whos the best pound for pound, who has the best skills, which fighters are good at ever aspect of the game.

Thats why Torres is one of the best, along with alot of smaller guys. Urijah Faber, Mike Brown, Shinya Ayoki, Kid Yamamoto. They are all smaller guys but they are all some of the top pound for pound fighters.

  8. metaldudebuff92 Says:

    Thats the thing… …
Thats the thing…you can’t just drop a ton weight and expect to destroy people. BJ has massive cardio problems when he messes around in other weight classes. He goes up to 170 and hes not as good as he is at 155. He went up a ton of weight and faught Lyoto Machida in a tournament and he lost. Torres would beat Penn if Penn cut that much weight to fight him. Thats why Torres it higher up the list then penn.

  9. metaldudebuff92 Says:

    Yes, i have seen …
Yes, i have seen him fight, im a big Torres fan. Have you seen his fights? i dont’ think you have. And once again the weight dropping thing. Bj penn goes up to welter weight and isnt’ as good as he is at 155. He put on a ton of weight and faught against Lyoto Machida in a tournament and lost. and for BJ to make 135 its 20 pounds not 10…I don’t think Penn would handle with weight change well. He’s a great 155er but everwhere else hes not as good.

  10. metaldudebuff92 Says:

    actually i doubt …
actually i doubt brock would win. First off he just sucks. and if you drop that much weight your not going to perform at your best. he’d lose so much strenght…Brock lesner droping 130 pounds to fight a natural 155 pounder…he’d lose so bad.

  11. rtc7788 Says:

    you mean Wanderlei …
    you mean Wanderlei Silva

  12. rtc7788 Says:

    The ? Torres …
The ? Torres can’t hold a candle to those fighters, have you even watched Torres fight before? He fights like an amateur. Like someone else said, BJ Penn could drop 10 lb’s and destroy Torres in a heartbeat.

  13. rtc7788 Says:

    no.. it means their …
no.. it means their skill and their strength for each pound is superior. For example if brock lesnar were to drop a hundred and thirty pounds and be at BJ Penn’s weight, he’d get destroyed. Meaning BJ Penn pound for pound is far superior than Brock.

  14. hmoobneenja Says:

    pound for pound …
pound for pound means that u’ll fight whoever at whatever their weight… fedor’s only 6 foot… probably one of the smallest heavyweights for his size but he’s always going up against bigger guys… same with anderson silva fighting 205ers… machida said he wants to fight some heavyweights too—even said he’d take on lesnar…

  15. Technopunkster Says:

    not true. BJ Penn …
not true. BJ Penn can drop 10 lbs and smoke Torres in a heartbeat. allong with some of the other top UFC fighters if they drop 10 lbs. Torres would get smoked

  16. metaldudebuff92 Says:

Dude, he is one of …
Dude, he is one of the top pound for pound fighters in the world. Weight class dons’t mean . You got Fedor, GSP, Anderson Silva, Faber, Machida, Penn, Ayoki, Okami, Brown, and Torres…all in different weight classes. There is a fighter from each weight class (except fly weight) represented in the pound for pound. Miguel is probably #4 p4p behind Silva, GSP and Fedor.

  17. metaldudebuff92 Says:

    dude its his weight …
dude its his weight class. You don’t bump up a weight class to get attention. You fight at the weight class that you can perform the best in…and he is noticed. He’s the best 135 pounder in the world and one of the top pound for pound fighters in the world.

  18. Mortido Says:

    And yet, he’d kick …
And yet, he’d kick the out of you. Go back to spotting your tapout buddies on the bench and leave MMA to the real men.

  21. Technopunkster Says:

    Wait nevermind… …
    Wait nevermind… you got:

St Pierre, Jon Fitch, Thiago Alves, Josh Koscheck, Diego Sanzhez.

    Nvm he’d get smoked

  22. Technopunkster Says:

    135 lb = weak sauce …
135 lb = weak sauce. he can make to 99-1 and wouldnt get noticed. He needs to step up in weight.

  23. mmagenius1 Says:

    hmm awesome …
hmm awesome interview, Miguel is a superb fighter.

  24. TheUFCfreak Says:

    haha, right.. he’s …
haha, right.. he’s good fighter but so are the girls in strikeforce, but no one would even think about calling them the greatest fighters. He’s to small to be taken seriously, only people who should be scared of him is women and 14 year old boys, because their the only people he’s bigger then.

  25. roninatme Says:

the ufc freak ur a …
the ufc freak ur a fan, torres would smash you and 5 of your tap out wearing buddies
